How to Be An Anti-Racist Team Captain!
Limited Capacity seats available

In this moment of uprising & cry for justice against the murder of black & brown people by the police across the nation, it is imperative that collectively work together to disrupt western-prescribed models of working and learning. To have meaningful & impactful youth and staff driven outcomes, requires speaking truth to power, compassion amongst us all, & self-reflection. In this workshop, we will identify best practices to be implemented this summer to construct our collective identity & responsibility by supporting one another with transparency, consistency & anti-racist & culturally responsive practices.

Participants will:
  • Practice self-reflection to identify personal areas of growth and challenges in anti-racist leadership (understanding your own conscious and unconscious biases).
  • Learn best practices in providing supervision using compassionate leadership tools to best serve staff, youth, and families.
  • Be exposed to tools for decision making and shared responsibility through collective leadership including, but not limited to:
  • How to virtually design Ways of Being/Working Group Agreements & curriculum planning with team members;
  • How to develop meeting agendas with input from all levels of leadership; and
  • How to practice anti-racist Family Engagement in a remote world.
