Acknowledge, Be transparent, and Create! (starting with trust) - those are the ABCs for designing student-centered and anti-racist virtual programming. We will explore those ABCs and a framework for designing new ways for young people to evolve as virtual learners. After beginning our workshop with foundational tenants, we'll explore what programming ideas can spark young people to have agency in their own learning.
Participants will:
  • Reflect on what it means to be a student-centered + anti-racist designer
  • Experience a framework for designing virtual program content that is engaging + culturally responsive
  • How to be more aware of how content either supports or dismisses student's voices and power
  • How to develop content to incorporate opportunities for students to be stewards of their own learning.
